Taking Care

How immature must people be to simply accept without question the idea that God and/or government should take care of them? My previous post about the argument that God must not exist because people are unhappy leads me to this thought. Too many of us think that government is not good unless it takes care of us. We expect our lives to be trouble-free, and so of course the government must ensure that.

This morning I read that already 20 percent of households in the United States are dependent on the government for their income. And I do NOT mean civil servants. We’re talking welfare. How much longer can we sustain this kind of redistribution of wealth?
